How to place International Calls From North America (Including Canada), Alaska, or Hawaii.

This article will guide you on how to dial international numbers.

The International calling feature should be enabled on your account before you proceed. If you have questions about if international calling is enabled on your account, please feel free to contact support, or your account manager.

There are two types of international destinations.

  • Extended Regions
  • International Destinations

Extended Regions are countries which are part of the North American Dial Plan. Their numbers start with a +1 or 1 and can be called just like if you were to call any other US or Canadian Number. Many of the Caribbean Countries are part of this Extended Region.

Here is an example of how to dial an extended region number:

Lets us Jamaica as an example:

First dial 1, the country code for Jamaica.
Then dial 876, the area code for all of Jamaica (3 digits).
Finally dial the phone number (7 digits).

Other International Destinations are fairly simple, and just require that you add 011 to the beginning of the number. Lets use calling Italy as an example:

First dial 011, the U.S. exit code.
Then dial 39, the country code for Italy.
Next dial the area code (2–4 digits).
Finally dial the phone number (5–8 digits).
